Engagement model
Our work is paid programming consulting: either a scoped Node.js backend project with written deliverables, or ongoing technical advisory with scheduled sessions. This page explains how we move from your first email to a signed statement of work.
Discovery and fit
You share repository access (read-only is fine), architecture notes, and the outcomes you need — for example a stable webhook intake, a GraphQL façade, or clearer module boundaries. We respond with clarifying questions and, when appropriate, a short video or on-site working session in George Town.
If the fit is poor (wrong stack, timeline under a week with production risk, or compliance needs outside our practice), we say so early rather than stretching scope.
Scoped build track
| Phase | What happens |
|---|---|
| Brief | Written goals, constraints, and environments (staging URLs, CI vendor). |
| Proposal | Milestones, acceptance checks, and MYR fees labelled as starting estimates until signed. |
| Build | Node.js implementation with tests named in the proposal; weekly written status. |
| Handover | Runbook, environment variables list (no secrets in email), and a recorded walkthrough if requested. |
Typical scoped items include REST or RPC services, queue consumers, database migration scripts, and hardening passes on existing Express/Fastify apps.
Advisory track
Retainers reserve a fixed number of hours per month for architecture reviews, pairing on difficult pull requests, and upgrade planning (Node.js runtime, npm dependencies). Sessions are scheduled in Malaysia time; unused hours do not roll indefinitely unless the agreement says otherwise.
Rescue review track
A time-boxed audit produces a prioritised findings document: security misconfigurations, missing tests around payments, logging gaps, and dependency advisories. You may implement fixes internally or convert selected items into a scoped build.
Commercial terms
Fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit. Invoices follow the payment schedule in your statement of work. Consumer remedies under Malaysian law are described in our refund policy. Supplier details and SSM registration appear in the site footer and on the contact page.
