Backends that survive Penang’s pace of release

Teams in George Town and across Malaysia often ship mobile-first products where the Node.js tier carries payments, inventory, or partner APIs. We scope that layer explicitly: route design, validation, queue workers, and deployment hooks you can hand to your own DevOps or hosting vendor.

Locality matters for working hours and workshop sessions. We meet on-site along Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah when a whiteboard beats a screen share, and we document decisions so offshore contributors stay aligned.

See how engagements are structured

Clear Node.js service boundaries beat heroic weekend deploys — especially when your customers are one timezone away.

Where we concentrate effort

API hardening and observability

Express or Fastify services gain structured logging, health checks, and failure modes your on-call runbook can follow. We prefer incremental refactors over big-bang rewrites unless risk analysis says otherwise.

Integration bridges

Connect legacy PHP or .NET monoliths to new Node.js workers using idempotent jobs and explicit retry policy — common when Penang manufacturers modernise dealer portals.

Advisory retainers

Monthly blocks for architecture reviews, dependency upgrades, and interview support when you expand your in-house Node.js bench.

Engagement shapes

Scoped build

Fixed deliverables — for example a REST surface, webhook consumer, or migration script — with acceptance tests named in the statement of work.

Technical advisory

Recurring sessions to unblock senior developers, review pull requests, and align Node.js patterns with your security checklist.

Rescue review

Time-boxed audit of an existing Node.js codebase: dependency risk, test gaps, and a prioritised remediation list you can budget internally.

Questions teams ask before hiring

Do you only work with TypeScript?

We support both TypeScript and modern JavaScript on Node.js 20+. The engagement letter states language, test runner, and lint rules up front.

Can you join our Slack or self-hosted chat?

Yes for active projects. We avoid public channels for credentials and route secrets through your vault tooling.

How are fees structured?

Scoped builds use milestone invoices; advisory uses monthly retainers. Figures are quoted in MYR with scope notes — nothing on this site is a binding quote until signed.

Who owns the code?

Upon cleared payment for the relevant milestone, deliverables are assigned to you per the terms. Third-party OSS remains under its licenses.
